10 Nuclear Bomb Explosions on May 8th and 11th

Trinity Nuclear Abolition (TNA) will hold a peace vigil in front of the main sign at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) on Tuesday May 8th at the corner of Diamond and West Jemez. The focus of this demonstration is to call for clean up of radioactive contamination in the area, and for an end to nuclearism at LANL. The demonstration will be held from 7:00am to 8:00am.

TNA will have 5 courteous demonstrators on-site at May's peaceful, nonviolent, unobtrusive vigil. TNA breaks no laws, but rather intends their prayers to help LANL's employees STOP committing crimes against humanity (which are supposed to be illegal under international law).

TNA's May 8th vigil will be the 58th such demonstration held at LANL. This date was chosen because of the five full-scale nuclear explosions conducted by the USA between 1951 and 1974 on May 8th. LANL's nuclear bombing of earth have used code names, starting with Trinity, Fat Man and Little Boy (all in the summer of 1945). The May 8th nuclear bombs exploded by proponents of nuclearism in the USA were George (1951), Encore (1953), Yukon (1962), Crock (1968) and Jib (1974). Friday May 11th will be the anniversary of 5 other nuclear bombing events on earth conducted by the D.o.E.: Fir (1958), Muskegon (1962), Swordfish (1962), Kara (1972), and Freezeout (1979). "Each test explosion was a show of violent force by which the USA could threaten the planet with superior poison-firepower, and were therefore immoral, idolatrous, and antithetical to all mainstream religious traditions on earth," according to Marcus Pegasus, a TNA prayer-activist.

TNA pledges to continue these demonstrations until the majority of LANL resources are spent on CLEAN-UP of radioactively contaminated sites at LANL. TNA supports the immediate peaceful ending of nuclear weapons research, development, and production. For four years TNA has protested LANL's noncompliance with the U.S. Constitutional duties and U.S. treaty obligations. TNA is always nonviolent, playful, prayerful and peaceful in the prayer-actions conducted at LANL.
